Our Cleanrooms and Equipment are Designed to Generate Minimal Air Contamination

Cleanetics cleanrooms are designed to maintain extremely low levels of particulates, such as dust, airborne organisms, or vaporized particles. These cleanrooms typically have a cleanliness level quantified by the number of particles per cubic meter at a predetermined molecule measure.

Did you know… The ambient outdoor air in a typical urban area contains 35,000,000 particles for each cubic meter in the size range from 0.5mm and bigger in measurement, equivalent to an ISO 9 cleanroom. By comparison, an ISO 1 cleanroom permits no particles in that size range and just 12 particles for each cubic meter of 0.3mm and smaller.

Let’s Talk About Semiconductor Cleanrooms

Why is it Important to Have Cleanrooms in Semiconductor Manufacturing?

Semiconductors hold distinct electrical characteristics that can be amplified to allow for energy conversion. Often found in technology, semiconductors are integral pieces of equipment to create things such as microchips. However, if there is any sort of imperfection in the semiconductor, it can cause the technology to glitch. As consumers, we can understand exactly why this could be a big issue for companies that produce semiconductors.

That’s where Cleanetics comes in. We design, build, and install cleanrooms that protect the environment in which semiconductors are manufactured. With complete control over the environment in our semiconductor cleanrooms, manufacturers can ensure quality products are being produced, ensuring happy clients and, eventually, consumers. Contact Cleanetics today to discuss your semiconductor cleanroom environment needs and to get started on the design process.

Frequently Asked Questions

What level of cleanroom is required for semiconductor manufacturing?

Most semiconductor cleanrooms are ISO 4 (Class 10) or ISO 5 (Class 100) cleanrooms. However, some projects may require an ISO 6 (Class 1,000), ISO 7 (Class 10,000), or even ISO 8 (Class 100,000) cleanrooms. They must also follow the ISO 14644-1 standard. There are many variations and regulations in semiconductor cleanroom requirements, making them some of the most demanding in the industry.

Why are cleanrooms important in the semiconductor industry?

Cleanrooms are crucial for minimizing particle contamination. In the semiconductor industry, wafers are extraordinarily sensitive to contaminants, requiring that semiconductors be manufactured in cleanrooms. Because semiconductors have become such crucial components to so many tools across numerous industries, a properly built and maintained cleanroom is necessary for their continued production.
